I've been poking around the WindowsApps folder where all the Windows Store apps are installed and I noticed old versions of all the apps co-existing with the up-to-date versions of the same apps. The apps in question are the Microsoft apps like Mail, Music,
etc. The RTM versions exist in their entirety even though they aren't used. I thought this was strange and an inefficient use of space, so I deleted all of the old versions, including a file called jscache_64 or something that appeared to be a system file.
Is this a good idea, or a fatal mistake? Also, why wouldn't the Store replace the original versions of a particular app once an update was installed?
