You know that there are a lot of users with growing WinSxS folders (How to reduce the size of winsxs in windows 7 ultimate x64).
In Windows 8 MS made a huge improvement which I've requested over years. You can now use DISM.exe and theDisc cleanup UI to remove updates which are replaced by newer ones (like newer IE updates). I've explained it here:

This saves you much space over the time!
