A little on my system:
HP Presario CQ62-200 CQ62-219WM WQ778UAR 15.6" LED Notebook
Dual Boot: W7 64Bit Ultimate/W8 64Bit Pro
AMD Athlon Dual-Core
CLock 798 MHz (199x4)
2811 MB Ram
Hooked up to AOC monitor, one Toshiba external HD, one Seagate external HD
Using CoreTemp I find under W7 that temp's run from about 23C to 35C--Outlook open 5 desktop gadgets. CPU and RAM usage varies greatly from 20% to 80%, but temp is pretty stable.
With CoreTemp under W8 tends to run 77C-80C. CPU and RAM usage pretty much the same.
Max Temp for overheating is 115C according to CoreTemp.
Anybody else notice W8 running hotter than W7? Performance otherwise has been great, but I guess my hardware is not up to W8.
